Tagahanga at kaibigan ni Dr. Jose Rizal. Naging kalihim ni Ambassador Plenipotentiary Felipe Agoncillo. Isa sa ilang Pilipino na di sumumpa ng katapatan sa Estados Unidos. Kusang ipinatapon ang sarili sa Estados Unidos sa loob ng 25 taon. Ginugol ang nalalabing buhay sa kanyang bukid sa Balayan. Namatay, Marso 3, 1947.[11]
