Terms of Service

We review abuse reports promptly and remove unlawful content. We report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

1. Who we are and who the service is for

4ort.xyz is operated by Artificial Instincts LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company (“we”, “us”). Our business mailing address, care of Northwest Registered Agent, is:

Contact: agents@4ort.ai. The services are intended for business or professional use. If you act for an organization, including through an automated agent, you must have authority to act for it. An automated agent does not replace the responsibility of its operator.

2. What you get

The public website presents a knowledge graph compiled from public sources. The API at /api/v1 provides structured data for developers and AI agents. Planned paid products include prepaid API credits, Marketer Alerts (a monthly subscription) and vertical data slices (companies and brands, places, products, open-source projects, trending history). A free data sample is planned. The full graph is licensed only by written agreement, never through self-service checkout. Product descriptions and prices are on our pricing page.

Paid API output and data products exclude rendered web pages, narrative text, embeddings, third-party page text and data licensed to us for internal use only. A citation to a source does not grant rights to copy that source’s text or images.

3. Licence and source attribution

To the extent we hold applicable rights, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our compilation, selection, joining, cleaning and delivery of API output and data products obtained within your allowance or purchased from us. This includes commercial use in products and services, analytics, and training, evaluating or grounding machine-learning models, subject to these terms and applicable source licences.

We do not claim ownership of underlying facts or public-domain material. Sources retain their applicable rights. Source licences and attribution requirements govern the corresponding components; our terms do not replace them. The public source registry and accompanying provenance identify source, licence, licence URL and attribution information.

Preserve required notices, attribution, licence links and modification statements in the manner required by each source licence. Requirements depend on the licence and use; internal use is not universally exempt. CC0 and public-domain material do not acquire an attribution requirement from these terms, but other rights and applicable laws may still apply.

4. Use restrictions

You may not resell, sublicense or republish our protected compilation or bulk delivery as a competing dataset, knowledge graph or data API without our permission. This restriction applies only to rights we can restrict. It does not limit reuse, redistribution or other rights independently granted by upstream open licences, public-domain status, or applicable law, including for components received through us.

A key is for one organization. Keep it secure. Do not share it across organizations, evade limits or allowances, or register multiple keys to bypass them. Do not use the services unlawfully, for harassment, unlawful surveillance or discrimination, or in ways that degrade service for others. We may suspend access for abuse or breach, with notice where practical.

5. People represented in the graph

Person records are limited to published facts about people in public or official roles. Public availability does not remove privacy-law protections. You are responsible for the lawful basis and other obligations applicable to your own processing, including downstream use of personal data.

Send access, correction, removal or other privacy requests to agents@4ort.ai. We assess requests under applicable law and reflect accepted corrections or removals in the live service and subsequent data releases as appropriate. Previously downloaded copies cannot be remotely recalled. Buyers remain responsible for applicable correction and deletion duties. See our Privacy Policy.

6. Orders, payment and taxes

For paid orders when sales launch:

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Applicable transaction taxes are collected by Paddle as Merchant of Record. The checkout will disclose the total price and applicable taxes before purchase. Paddle’s applicable buyer terms also govern its order process.

API usage beyond the free allowance is planned to use prepaid credits. One entity lookup is one unit; bulk requests count each entity returned; search counts two. Errors and cached HTTP 304 revalidations are not charged. When credits are exhausted, calls beyond the allowance return HTTP 402; there is no automatic overage invoice. These paid limits are not enabled before launch.

Unused prepaid API credits are refundable within 30 days of purchase. Data slices are refundable within 14 days if not downloaded; defective files will be replaced or refunded. Marketer Alerts subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the billing period. Requests go through Paddle. Our Refund Policy gives the details and preserves mandatory rights.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided on a best-effort basis, without an uptime commitment unless agreed in writing. Within API v1, response changes are additive; removing or renaming fields requires a new version and notice.

We give at least 30 days’ notice of price changes. Prepaid credits keep the price at which they were bought. We will publish revised terms with an updated effective date and give notice of material changes through the site or available account contact details. Changes do not remove rights already accrued.

8. Accuracy, warranty and liability

The service and data are provided “as is” and “as available”, to the extent permitted by law. Public sources and AI-assisted processing may contain errors, omissions or outdated information. We do not warrant accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Verify important claims against primary sources. The service is not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses to the extent such exclusion is lawful. These limitations do not exclude fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability, warranty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory rights prevail.

9. Corrections and rights concerns

Report factual errors, rights concerns or personal-data issues to agents@4ort.ai, including the relevant URL or record identifier and an explanation. We review requests and respond within the time required by applicable law. Do not send sensitive identity documents unless we request a proportionate verification method.

10. Governing law and agreement

Connecticut law governs these terms, without its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts in Connecticut have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer or privacy protections that apply to you.

These terms and the referenced Refund Policy govern self-service use and purchases; a signed enterprise agreement overrides conflicting provisions for that agreement. You may stop using the service at any time. Rights and duties that by their nature survive termination continue to apply.
