Walter Dayton Anthony, a resident of this community practically all of his life, passed away on Tuesday of this week in the Newark Hospital, from pneumonia. He had been in ill health for a number of years, and had been forced to retire from business life two years ago. He had been in the hospital a week. Mr. Anthony, whose home had been at 466 West Franklin Avenue for many years, moved with his family to Newark last September. He was born in the old family homestead in Allendale, and had been a life-long resident of this section of Bergen County. Surviving him are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Alexander Henderson of Suffern; Mrs. Frederick Holmes of Passaic, and Miss Elenore Anthony; his mother, Mrs. Daniel Anthony of this Village; three brothers, Harry, of Allendale; Daniel and Watson of Ridgewood, and two sisters, Mrs. R. B. Cable, Jr., of Ridgewood, and Mrs. George Davidson of New York City, The funeral service, which will be held on Friday at the Passaic Episcopal Church, will be private. Interment will be in the family plot in Valleau.[18].
