Reith officiated at funeral services on Monday afternoon for Jarvis A. Lattin, former Farmingdale resident who passed away at his home, Lake Helen, Florida, on Friday. Services were conducted, at White Funeral Home, Conklin Street, and burial was made in the Bethpage Cemetery [sic]. Mr. Lattin, who was 87 was born in a house on the site of the present Stern Pickle Company, and for many years conducted a pickle business there. He is survived by five daughters and two sons, Theodore Lattin, of Silver Beach, New York; and Dewey Lattin, of the Bronx; Mrs. Richard Brush, of Hauppauge; Mrs. Alice Carpitella of Berlin, New Jersey; Mrs. Myrtle Williams, of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Joseph Pomeroy, of Babylon; and Mrs. Julia Poole, of Farmingdale. Mr. Lattin's wife passed away about 13 years ago. A frequent visitor in Farmingdale after moving to Florida, Mr. Lattin was here from April to September 1940. While he was here, he made arrangements for his funeral, as he thought he was not to live for long.[19].
