She was born September 22, 1893, to Owen and Margaret Conboy McLaughlin in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she attended schools. On June 24, 1926, she married William Rankin in Jersey City. Her husband died in 1970. In the mid-1970s, she moved to Yonkers. Mrs. Rankin was a parishioner of Christ the King Church in Yonkers. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Mulligan of Brooklyn and Jeanne Schaumburg of Yonkers; three sons, William Rankin of West Haverstraw, and Owen Rankin and James Rankin, both of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A brother, James McLaughlin, and a sister, Margaret Enright, died earlier. Arrangements are being handled by Whalen & Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers.[12].
