    Naging Katedral ng Borongan noong 1961. Ito ay nagkaroon ng malawakang pagbabago at pagpapalaki noong 1962 sa pamamagitan ng Kapita-pitagang Reberendo Vicente P. Reyes, D.D., unang obispo ng Borongan. Sa kasalukuyan ang bilog na kampanaryo ang tanging bahagi ng lumang simbahan na nananatili.[11].
