Robert D. Cabana was born on January 23, 1949, in Minneapolis and is a citizen of the United States. He received his education at Washburn High School, the United States Naval Academy, and the United States Naval Test Pilot School.He served as the Chief of the Astronaut Office from 1994 to 1997. Over the course of his career, he has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, and induction into the United States Astronaut Hall of Fame[1].
