She has received numerous awards, including Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society, Commander of the Order of the British Empire, Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order, Holberg International Memorial Prize, Fellow of the British Academy, and Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, among others [11].In addition to her academic work, Onora O'Neill has held several prominent positions, including member of the House of Lords since 1999, principal from 1992 to 2006, and Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission from 2012 to 2016 [12]. She is also a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina [10].
