Nancy Wexler was born on July 19, 1945, in Washington, D.C. She is a United States citizen and works as a geneticist, physician, and university teacher.[1] Wexler studied at Radcliffe College, the University of Michigan, and Harvard University.[2] She is employed by Columbia University[3] and her fields include genetics, medicine, and neuropsychology.[1]Wexler has received several awards: the Benjamin Franklin Medal, a Fulbright Scholarship, the J. Allyn Taylor International Prize in Medicine, the Robert J. and Claire Pasarow Foundation Award for Distinguished Contributions to Neuropsychiatric Research, the Lasker-Bloomberg Public Service Award, and she is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.[4][5][6][3] She is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the New York Academy of Medicine.[3]
