## Summary

Muhibbe Darga was a Turkish[1] anthropologist and archaeologist born in Istanbul on June 13, 1921. She died in Istanbul on March 6, 2018 and was buried at Karacaahmet Cemetery. Her education included Sainte-Marie de Neuilly, Kemal Atatürk Lisesi, Erenköy Girls High School, and Istanbul University[2]. She was married to Heinz Anstock from 1947 to 1951, and later to Necati Sarıer beginning in 1953[3][4].Professionally, she was employed by Istanbul University and in Muş from 1957 to 1958[3]. Her work and life were influenced by the Louvre Museum, Pompeii, Nüzhet Gökdoğan, Isadora Duncan, George Sand, and Gertrude Bell[2].
