Margarita Nelken was born on July 5, 1894, in Madrid [1][2][3][4][5]. She worked as a writer, art critic, politician, and translator [1][2][3]. She served as a Member of the Cortes republicanas from 1931 to 1933, again from 1933 to 1936, and once more from 1936 to 1939 [3][1][2]. She was a member of the Lyceum Club Femenino and the World Committee of Women Against War and Fascism [6]. Nelken died on March 9, 1968, in Mexico City [1][2][3][5].
