A French citizen[16], he worked as a painter, draftsperson, lithographer, and caricaturist[17][14] specializing in the field of miniature[15]. He served as court painter and was a member of the Académie de Stanislas in Nancy, France[18].He was married to Justine Laurisse de Salienne[19] and had two children: Eugène Isabey and Alexandrine Isabey[20]. Among his honors were the Commander of the Legion of Honour, Officer of the Order of Leopold, and the Imperial Order of Christ[1]. He was buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery[17].
