James F. Crow (January 18, 1916 – January 4, 2012) was a geneticist, university teacher, and entomologist[1] born in Phoenixville[2][3][4] and died in Madison[5][2][3][4]. He studied at Dartmouth College, the University of Texas at Austin, and Friends University, specializing in population genetics. Crow’s work was influenced by John Thomas Patterson.A self-identified atheist, he received notable recognition in his field, including the Thomas Hunt Morgan Medal and election as a Foreign Member of the Royal Society[6][7].
