## Summary

Ion Emanuel Florescu was a Romanian politician and military personnel. He was born on August 7, 1819, in Râmnicu Vâlcea, to boier Emanoil 'Manolache' Florescu, justiciar of Valachia, and Zinica Facca[1][2][2]. He died on May 10, 1893, in Paris[3].He received his education at the École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr. Throughout his career, he served as the Chief of the Romanian General Staff in 1860 and again from 1864 to 1866. He also held the position of President of the Senate of Romania. Additionally, he served as the Prime Minister of Romania in 1876. He was a recipient of the Cross of Valour (1920).
