Heather Cox Richardson was born in 1962 in Chicago.[1] She works as a historian, writer, journalist, influencer, and university teacher.[2]She was educated at Harvard University and Phillips Exeter Academy.[3] Her employers include Boston College (2011–present), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1997–2002), and the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2004–2010).[4][3][5]Her fields include history of the United States, history, the American Civil War, and Indigenous peoples of the Americas.[6] She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.[7].
