Hans Kruus (1891–1976) was born on October 22, 1891, in Tartu [1][2][3] and died on June 30, 1976, in Tallinn [1][2]. A historian, politician, and university teacher by occupation [4], he worked at the University of Tartu and the Estonian Academy of Sciences from 1946 onward [5]. His career spanned both academia and politics [6], holding key positions such as Acting Prime Minister in 1940 [4], member of the Estonian Provincial Assembly (1917–1920) [4], the Estonian Constituent Assembly (1919–1920) [4], and the Riigikogu in 1922 [4].Kruus was also a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Estonian Academy of Sciences [5]. His contributions to Estonian scholarship and governance were recognized throughout his lifetime. After his death, he was buried at Raadi cemetery .
