Duke Adolf Friedrich of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was born on October 10, 1873, in Schwerin.[1][2][3][4][5] He held citizenship of Germany. His occupations included explorer, entomologist, politician, zoologist, traveler, and zoological collector.[1][6][7] His father was Frederick Francis II, and his mother was Princess Marie of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.[4][4]He was the spouse of Princess Victoria Feodora Reuss (1917–present) and Princess Elisabeth of Stolberg-Rossla (1924–present). His child was Duchess Woizlawa Feodora of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.[4]He received the Great Cross with Star and Sash of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, was a Knight of the Seraphim, and was a Knight of the Order of the Elephant.[8] He died on August 5, 1969, in Eutin, and was buried at Schleswig-Holstein.[1][2][3][4][5].
