## Summary

Édouard Grimaux was born on July 3, 1835, in Rochefort [1][2][3]. He died on May 2, 1900, in Suresnes [1][3]. Grimaux served as a professor at the École polytechnique from 1877 to 1898 and worked at the Hôpital de la marine between 1853 and 1858 [4]. He was awarded the title of Officer of the Legion of Honour [2].Throughout his career, he held several notable positions, including president in 1898, chair from 1881 to 1898, and mayor's adjunct [5][6]. He was a member of the French Academy of Sciences, the Association française pour l'avancement des sciences, the Société Chimique de France, and a Masonic Lodge [7][6]. Grimaux was buried at the Crématorium-columbarium du Père-Lachaise [8].
