In the field of geochemistry, he served as director from 1976 to 1986[3].His work earned him numerous awards, including the CNRS Gold medal, the Arthur L. Day Medal, the V. M. Goldschmidt Award, and two more[9][10][11]. Additionally, he received the French honors of Commander of the French Order of Academic Palms, Grand Officer of the National Order of Merit, and Commander of the Legion of Honour[9][10][11].
