## Summary

Bill Gates Sr. was born on November 30, 1925, in Bremerton. He held United States citizenship. His parents were William Henry Gates and Lillian Elizabeth Rice.[1][1]He was a lawyer, philanthropist, and businessperson. His education included Bremerton High School, the University of Michigan, and the University of Washington School of Law. He received the Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College and the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.He was married to Mary Maxwell Gates (1951–1994) and Mimi Gardner Gates (1996–present). He died on September 14, 2020, at Hood Canal.[2] He was buried at Riverside National Cemetery.[3].
