Auguste Clésinger was a French painter, sculptor, and visual artist born in Besançon on October 22, 1814. [1][2][3][4][3][5] He was the son of Georges-Philippe Clésinger. [6]Clésinger worked in the Romanticism movement.  He was awarded the rank of Officer of the Legion of Honour. [7]He died on January 5, 1883, at rue de la Chaise. [8]
